Chemical safety goes online
Once campus resumes normal operations, researchers will be busy in the lab doing their important and cutting-edge research. Now is a good time to learn about lab safety and to complete any required trainings. The Office of Chemical Safety in the Department of Environment, Health & Safety is now offering an online version of the general chemical safety course. This course satisfies the training requirement of the OSHA Laboratory Standard and should be taken every five years. The Office of Chemical Safety also offers training about cryogens, fume hoods, sharps, disposal of hazardous chemicals, and how to be an effective laboratory hygiene officer.
