A Discussion of Lessons Learned and Guiding Principles for Working with Communities

Dr. Amanda Boyd is a member of the Métis Nation of Alberta and an associate professor at Washington State University. In her presentation, she will examine two studies, one on risk perceptions of traditional foods and contaminants in the Canadian Arctic, and another assessing communication about COVID-19 among Native Americans in the United States. Dr. Boyd will conclude with lessons for working with Indigenous communities on health and environmental communication research.
