Dynamic Field Camera for Advanced Brain Imaging with MRI

Description:

The dynamic field camera system will upgrade the Waisman Brain Imaging Core’s MRI scanner by improving image quality for multiple imaging techniques essential to the core’s researchers. The system will also support future opportunities including 3D functional MRI, multi-shot diffusion MRI and 2D and 3D spiral imaging.

The Waisman Brain Imaging Core supports studies of infant and child development, adult aging, Alzheimer’s disease, autism, Down syndrome, fragile X syndrome, pediatric traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, mood disorders and nonhuman primate studies. MRI studies focus on investigations of brain structure and anatomy, microstructure, blood, and cerebral spinal fluid flow and function.
