Upgrading the Social Science Computing Core’s (SSCC) “Linstat” and Linux-based Interactive Compute Cluster (Slurm) Research Computing Infrastructure

Description:
The Social Science Computing Core’s (SSCC’s) computing capabilities will be enhanced by replacing three servers in the SSCC’s Linstat interactive Linux compute cluster and adding two more GPU servers to the Slurm cluster. Higher throughput computing will be possible and advantageous for the increase in learning/artificial intelligence initiatives on campus.

The SSCC supports researchers at UW–Madison who use statistical analysis in their work. They provide a complete research computing environment focused on statistics plus the expert help needed to use it.
