Automation in the UW Human Pluripotent Stem Cell Core
Description:
The new liquid handling platform will increase the efficiency and capacity of the UW Human Pluripotent Stem Cell Core by automating manual bottleneck processes. By shifting manual tasks to automation, they will be able to transform the core from a bottleneck-limited service into a high-throughput accelerator for research at UW.
The UW Human Pluripotent Stem Core develops human pluripotent stem cell (hPSC) resources to study diverse types of diseases. Given the pioneering role of UW researchers in guiding differentiation to a variety of cell types, these models provide critical substrates for the study of disease pathogenesis, particularly in understanding human-specific aspects that are not adequately modeled by rodents.
