WiscWeb users: Don’t forget to migrate your research/lab site to UW Theme 2.0
The campus website service, WiscWeb, is transitioning themes from UW Theme Classic to UW Theme 2.0. All WiscWeb sites must either migrate to UW Theme 2.0 or rebuild them from scratch by December 31, 2026. Any sites that have not been transitioned by the end of the calendar year will be archived in early 2027, and access will be cut off.
Impacted sites are listed under the “UW Theme Classic” heading within the WiscWeb sites list KB doc.
What this means for you:
- By December 31, 2026, you must either migrate your website(s) to UW Theme 2.0 or rebuild them from scratch.
- The WiscWeb team has built a migration tool to make migration easier but the process requires steps from you.
- Once you’re ready, request a migration using the Request a New WiscWeb Site form.
- The editing experience in the new theme is different from the old theme. Therefore, it is recommended that site owners and editors review the training playlist and play around with the new theme in the UW Theme 2.0 Playground to get familiar with the changes.
