UW Glass Lab Furnace and Kiln Replacements and Plasma Upgrade

Description:

The UW Glass Lab will rebuild, replace, and upgrade several pieces of equipment essential to campus glassmaking capabilities. The improvements will improve glass quality, support accessibility, increase volume and position UW as a leader among US glass laboratories.

The UW Glass Lab’s research mission centers the practice of glassmaking to support a spectrum of research activities across the arts and sciences. The Glass Lab serves the university by making glass by hand for custom geometries and environments simply not attainable through commercial methods.
