Upgrades to Cage Washing Equipment for the School of Medicine and Public Health Biomedical Research Models Services Animal Facilities and Husbandry Core

Description:

Funding will be used to complete a full rebuild of a rack washer. The heart of an animal research vivarium is the washroom. Generally, washrooms have large equipment such as rack washers, tunnel washers, and autoclaves used for washing and sterilizing animal cages, caging components, enrichment devices, racks, and other facility equipment. The ability to wash and sterilize this equipment is vital to animal health and research integrity.

BRMS Animal Facilities and Husbandry Core provides care for research animals in a way that fulfills the requirements of good experimental design and administers a program of animal care and use so that it is consistent with regulatory and accreditation expectations.
