Research Bazaar seeks workshop proposals – deadline is Nov. 25
We are excited to invite you to participate in the second annual Data Science Research Bazaar by submitting your ideas to present!
UW–Madison’s Data Science Research Bazaar is a practical, hands-on, informal conference for all members of the UW-Madison campus community who are interested in data science, from expert methodologists to novice learners just getting their feet wet with data science tools. The Research Bazaar is happening virtually throughout February 2021.
The 2021 Data Science Research Bazaar has the theme Data Science for the Social Good. Three of the weeks when there will be Research Bazaar events, the events will relate to the themes of Data Science for Racial Equity, Data Science for Health and the Environment, and Data Science for Cities.
Presenters from all disciplines, all UW–Madison affiliated individuals, and individuals from the surrounding Madison area are encouraged to apply. Help make the Research Bazaar a successful exchange of ideas and skills by participating and submitting your idea to present.
Proposals are due on Nov. 25.
The Research Bazaar is seeking proposals for the following presentation formats and workshops:

Lightning Talks: 3-minute short talks looking for collaborators/resources or sharing a data science tool/pipeline/resource

Poster Session: Posters that connect data science research to other applications and research topics to build data science community.

Interactive Discussions: 90-minute discussions and community building around an issue, question, service or project that is related to one of the Research Bazaar sub-themes

Workshops: 1.5-2 hours to teach a hands-on tutorial for a tool, workflow, or concept
