Announcing the 2019-20 competitions for the Romnes, Kellett and WARF Named Professorship awards
The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Education is excited to announce the 2019-2020 competitions for the Romnes, Kellett and WARF Named Professorship awards. A department, a Ph.D. major program unit, or a formally constituted interdepartmental group of six or more faculty members (such as a center) may nominate one faculty member per award. By promoting these faculty fellowship competitions more widely across campus and extending the deadline to Feb. 7, 2020, the OVCRGE hopes to encourage a more diverse pool of nominations.
Diversity is a source of strength, creativity, and innovation for UW-Madison. We value the contributions of each person and respect the profound ways their identity, culture, background, experience, status, abilities, and opinion enrich the university community. It is also suggested that the members of the departmental or program unit nominating committees complete a workshop offered by the Women in Science and Engineering Leadership Institute (WISELI) to minimize the influence of unconscious or implicit bias in the nomination process.
