12:00-2:00 pm
WI Institute for Discovery (WID), H.F. DeLuca Forum 330 N. Orchard St., UW-Madison

Join us for lunch and learn about:

The Alliance for the American Dream, a new community-university collaboration, funded by Schmidt Futures, to promote shared prosperity and increase American competitiveness;

An affiliated research competition sponsored by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Education (OVCRGE); and

How your research can help improve the lives of families in Dane County and beyond.

The Alliance for the American Dream challenges our community to produce innovative ideas for increasing the net income of 10,000 Dane County families by 10% by the year 2020—by increasing income or decreasing the cost of living in areas such as housing, child care, transportation, health care, education, and energy. The UW Institute for Research on Poverty will lead the proposal-development process. UW-Madison is one of four universities selected to participate in the inaugural program. At least one team from each participating university will advance to receive continuing support in 2019.
