Upgrading Histology Core with Automated Printers and Coverslipper

Description:

The mission of the Department of Surgery Histology Core is to provide high-quality full service histological services to support clinical and basic science research at UW–Madison, in a cost effective, value-added manner.

Specific services include processing, embedding, sectioning, staining, and coverslipping of paraffin and frozen tissue samples.

This project will help automate processes by acquiring a cassette printer, slide printer and coverslipper. Each of these pieces of equipment will replace time consuming human power via labeling in pencil or hand cover slipping. This will improve work flow and save staff time.
