Replacement and Upgrade of a Workhorse Microscope for Fluorescence, Differential Interface Contrast (DIC), Polarizing and Reflected Light in the Newcomb Imaging Center

Description:
The new Z2 microscope provides brightfield, fluorescence and differential interface contrast (DIC) imaging, while offering major improvements in speed, sensitivity and overall efficiency through its modern electronics. The Z2 also adds several highly requested imaging modalities, including reflected-light and polarized-light imaging, and a fully motorized x-, y- and z-stage.

The Newcomb Imaging Center (NIC) is a space for research and education in the Department of Biology which offers expertise, instruction and access to instrumentation in modern microscopy to the community of scientists at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
