Newsletter Relaunch

Welcome to the relaunched Research Resources Reporter. We will be distributing our newsletter every other month with some flexibility to announce time-sensitive items. The bimonthly email will continue to feature content targeted at research core facility leadership, researchers, and staff. Contact Ryan Pingel (rpingel@wisc.edu) with content suggestions.

As we work to update our subscriber list, please forward this newsletter to colleagues. Subscriptions can be requested at https://resources.research.wisc.edu/ or by emailing rpingel@wisc.edu. The recipient list includes individuals associated with core facilities in the Research Cores Directory and those who have requested subscriptions in the past.

  • For previous subscribers: If your role has changed since the last iteration of this newsletter and the content is no longer relevant, you may unsubscribe by sending an email to rrrsubscribers+unsubscribe@g-groups.wisc.edu.
  • For Research Cores Directory contacts: If you are no longer affiliated with a core facility, email rpingel@wisc.edu to request removal from our contact list.

Research Core Revitalization Program Round 3

The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Education has started planning for the third round of the Research Core Revitalization Program (RCRP). The RCRP strengthens campus research core capacities by supporting the upgrade, replacement, or duplication of heavily used shared research resources. A formal announcement to open the application period is anticipated in October or November. See lists of previously funded projects at https://research.wisc.edu/funding/research-core-revitalization-program-2/ and https://news.wisc.edu/research-core-revitalization-program-funds-upgrades-to-shared-resources-on-campus/.

Steve Ackerman to Retire as VCRGE

Steve Ackerman has served as vice chancellor for research and graduate education since August 2019. His last day in the office will be September 15th. Cynthia Czajkowski, associate vice chancellor for research in the biological sciences, has been appointed as interim vice chancellor for research and graduate education.

BadgerConnect Research Services Fair

This year’s event will be held 11:30am–4:30pm Thursday, October 26th in the UW Biotechnology Center Atrium. The fair is open to all campus researchers and is an opportunity to learn about shared resources, network with campus colleagues, and meet representatives from regional biotech companies. Registration will be free. Monitor https://cancer.wisc.edu/research/shared-resources/badgerconnect/ for updates.
