Software Carpentry Workshop Aug 29 – 30, 2018

Hands-on workshop teaches data management & task automation.

UW-Madison Advanced Computing Initiative is hosting a Software Carpentry Workshop on Wednesday, August 29 and Thursday, August 30 from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.  Software Carpentry workshops aim to help researchers get their work done in less time and with less pain by teaching them basic research computing skills. This hands-on workshop will cover basic concepts and tools, including program design, version control, data management, and task automation.
Who: The course is aimed at UW-Madison graduate students and other UW-Madison researchers. Some prior experience with programming is strongly recommended. However, you don’t need to have any previous knowledge of the specific tools that will be presented at the workshop.
Where: Orchard Room, Wisconsin Institute for Discovery, 330 N. Orchard St.
When: August 29 – 30, 2018
