Nominations due March 2 for mentoring undergrads awards

Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Sarah C. Mangelsdorf today announced a call for entries in the third annual Awards for Mentoring Undergraduates in Research, Scholarly and Creative Activities, recognizing faculty, academic staff, post-doctoral fellows and graduate students for the outstanding work they do in mentoring undergraduates in their areas of professional activity. These awards will provide $2,000 of university expendable funds (supplies and expenses) to a faculty member/research group, academic staff member or post-doctoral fellow/graduate student for excellence in undergraduate mentoring. The deadline to submit nominations is Wednesday, March 2, 2016. Nominations should be sent to Assistant Vice Provost Laurie Mayberry, laurie.mayberry@wisc.edu. Questions can be directed to Vice Provost Steve Cramer at steven.cramer@wisc.edu.

The awards will be presented to recipients at a reception at the close of the Undergraduate Symposium on Thursday, April 14, 2016, in Union South. It is a requirement of the program that they attend to receive their award.
