Oxford Scholarly Editions Online Enhancement Initiative

Description:

The Department of Classical and Ancient Near Eastern Studies (CANES) with co-investigators from Art History, History, and Philosophy, in collaboration with Carly Sentieri, UW–Madison’s Librarian for Classical Humanities, and Julianne Haahr, Western European Studies and Social Sciences Librarian, have launched this project as the first step in a coordinated effort to deploy and/or obtain funds to support perpetual access to the Oxford Scholarly Editions Online (OSEO) materials for the study of Ancient Greece and Rome.

As part of an ongoing initiative, coordinated with various stakeholders across campus, the project will access two sets of OSEO editions: Latin Poetry and Latin History.

This access will especially benefit graduate students working in the above-mentioned disciplines, in their preparation of original research, understanding of trends in the disciplines, and capacity to design curriculum attractive to future academic employers.
