Project Description

The Margaret Q. Landenberger Research Foundation (“the Foundation”) is a non-profit private foundation which focuses its support on promising early-stage medical researchers engaged in projects with the potential to result in understanding an important disease process or leading to a new therapeutic intervention. The ideal candidate is affiliated with an outstanding medical research institution and is working independently. A mentoring team is not required. The Landenberger Foundation is open to research in all fields.

Amount per award: $200,000
Duration of award: 2 Years

Eligibility

The Margaret Q. Landenberger award is intended for early-stage investigators who have completed their terminal research degree or end of post-graduate clinical training, whichever date is later, within the past 10 years. This is not a Mentored Award and individuals who are currently on K awards or the equivalent are NOT eligible for funding. The ideal candidate would be an assistant or associate professor who has had a K award or equivalent and is now seeking independent funding such as an R award. K99/R00 awardees may apply during the R00 phase.

UW–Madison may submit one application.

To submit your application, attach a single PDF to an email to: grants@research.wisc.edu 
Please include the following:

  • Cover page with PI name, contact information and title of the project
  • CV
  • Research project summary of no more than 4 pages providing a description of how the proposed project meets the goals of the solicitation
