Project Description

The mission of the Edward Mallinckrodt, Jr. Foundation is to support early stage biomedical investigators engaged in basic and translational research that has the potential to make fundamental advances in biomedical science.

Amount per Award: $75,000 per year
Duration of Award: 3 Years
Number of Awards:  5 – 7

Eligibility

The funds are designed to provide to tenure track faculty members in their first to fourth year, who hold M.D. and/or Ph.D. degrees, start-up support to move the project forward to the point where R01 or other independent funding can be obtained.  Applicants with current R01 funding should not apply.

UW-Madison is allowed to submit 1 proposal.

To submit your application, please email a single PDF to grants@research.wisc.edu:
Please include the following information:

  • Cover page with name, contact information, and title of the project
  • Biosketch (5 page NIH format)
  • Lay project summary (no more than 1-2 pages)
  • Letter of support from the department chair, Dean, or mentor (no more than 2 pages)
  • Research project summary including Objectives/Aims (no more than 5 pages)
