Updates in the latest ADRD research at the UW-Madison

The annual Alzheimer's Disease & Related Dementias Research Day is hosted by the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center. It is designed to encourage collaboration and promote scientific thought among faculty, students and researchers from a wide range of disciplines across the UW–Madison campus. We invite UW-Madison students, scientists and researchers from all areas to join us and learn about the amazing work being done on campus.
Ecological Restoration Work Party

Early Signs of Spring
Arboretum Garden Tour

Meet at Visitor Center, UW–Madison Arboretum
As trees begin to leaf out, Dutchman’s breeches, twinleaf and rue-anemones might be blooming in the woodland gardens, and prairie-smoke in the prairie gardens. Susan Carpenter, garden curator, will lead this tour of the Native Plant Garden. Free, no registration required. Meet at the Visitor Center.
Class: Taking Time for Turtles

Meet at Visitor Center, UW–Madison Arboretum
One of the oldest groups of reptiles, turtles are also imperiled. Learn about their natural history, conservation, and management, including how to protect nests from predators. Practice using a circular key to identify Wisconsin’s eleven species. Instructor: Rebecca Christoffel, Christoffel Conservation. Indoor presentation followed by outdoor walk. Fee: $30. Register by April 23. Meet at the Visitor Center.
Scenic Stroll
Arboretum

Meet at Visitor Center, UW–Madison Arboretum
This gently paced walk explores ecological communities near the Visitor Center. Themes may include the land, plants, animals, other organisms, phenology, and ecology. Wear sturdy closed-toe shoes and come prepared for weather. Routes are wheelchair accessible when weather allows. Walks canceled for unsafe weather or route conditions. Free, no registration required. Meet at the Visitor Center.
Wisconsin Collaborative Clinical Research Professionals Conference
Partnerships Driving Innovation: Doing Better Together

Join other individuals, from across Wisconsin, who have a shared interest in advancing clinical research and improving health outcomes in our state and beyond! The FREE, in-person only Wisconsin Collaborative Clinical Research Professionals Conference, to be held May 2, 2024 in Madison, will convene professionals from a range of clinical research sectors, including academic health centers, community organizations, industry, and healthcare.

As an official 175th Anniversary celebration event, the evening honors the rich history of innovation and significant contributions to the fields of art and design, and imbues curiosity to explore, question and shape our world through the arts.
